Re: new powerrisers
Thu, April 3, 2008 - 9:37 AMI still find it pretty much impossible to stand completely still without something to hold on to. I usually end up doing this little walk in place thing when I want to stop moving in a direction. It is totally tiring but I don't think I've ever seen any stilters that could just stand for more than a few seconds. -

Thu, April 3, 2008 - 11:37 PMall stilts with the exception of drywall stilts fall into this category. To avoid too much of the pee pee dance pivot on one stilt and use it to brace you as you move just the one leg.

Re: new powerrisers
Sat, April 5, 2008 - 11:06 AMYou must keep moving to avoid falling over on risers. it's because of the small rubber "hooves" at the bottom. They provide very little stability, although they grip pretty good.
When I'm going to be on them for long periods of time, I have a 6 foot bamboo walking stick to lean on. I worked an event a few months ago where I was on them for 13 hours straight. Small knee pads (volleyball style) and foam pipe insulation (cut to around 5" long) for the back strap keep things tight and comfortable.
Enjoy!
