lee from this board quit offering his needle bearing kit 6-8 months ago, i purchased one of his last sets and they weren't the easiest thing to fit but worked great. some also installed flanged ball bearings to their stilts with good results. this forum is not very active anymore and i think most of those people have moved on.

Don't suppose you know where they moved on to? :)

There are a number of bocking related forums out there. You can find a list of them at www.PowerBockResources.com. Anyone looking to replace bushings with bearings should check out the various manufacturer sites found on the same website. Some models are now shipping with bearings or better (grease-packed sealed bushings) and their replacement parts may fit your older model.

A note of caution... If the bushing hole on your frame has deformed into an oval shape, it may be impossible to properly fit new bushings/bearings. Before spending money for new bushings/bearings (1) find out if they will fit your older model and (2) check to see that the existing bolt/bushing hole in your frame is still round.

A friend of mine has a pair of Powerrisers that are rated for 200lb+, but he told me that I could get a bearings kit that would allow me to use these even though I am 160lb. Do you know if this is true, and where I can get the kit?

    Peace

Replacing non-bearing bushings with bearings does make the movement smoother and the springs easier to compress without friction.

Replacing is tricky, especially these days with so many modle variations out there. For example, here is a tutorial at PoweriserPages.com on replacing the top bearings of a poweriZer model (which already starts out with bearings) -- but I don't know if the tutorial will work with poweriSers. Might be dealing with different hole sizes.

I would recommend just buy a new pair that already has bearings rather than screw around trying to retrofit an old one -- unless you know what you are doing.
